Romani Paramisi is a project which utilises the power of art as a form of communication and self-expression to be exercised by children in a disadvantaged social position.

The participants reinterpreted and recontextualised emblematic artworks and through the universal language of art talked about topics related to their own reality and culture.

In a series of 9 workshops, the artists Violeta Apostolova and Maya Antova, mentored and guided children from the Roma community in Sofia. The participants in the workshops created over 60 works, collage, performance and photography, which were presented in an exhibition.

The project is organised in partnership with Concordia Foundation and is with the financial support of the Socially Engaged Art Program of the National Culture Fund.
